Gretna's former city administrator has been sentenced to 6 months in jail for misusing city funds.

A Sarpy County judge also ordered Colleen Lawry to serve two years of probation, perform 100 hours of community service and write an apology to Gretna citizens.

Lawry had been accused of taking about $800 from the Gretna Senior Citizens Center, which was part of a $1,000 donation. And she also received extra tuition reimbursement that she didn't repay until asked to do so.

The Omaha suburb fired Lawry in May after she was charged.

Lawry pleaded no contest to theft charges in September as part of a plea deal

Prosecutors say Lawry cooperated with the investigation and made full restitution to Gretna and the Gretna Senior Citizens Center.
