A former University of Nebraska at Kearney softball coach has been accused of stealing from the athletics department.
Online court records say 36-year-old Michelle Brodersen-Martin, of Kearney, is charged with felony theft.
The records say a total of nearly $1,900 in cash was taken from the department between June 22 and Aug. 9. An arrest affidavit says Brodersen-Martin has acknowledged taking the money.
$186 has been deposited back into a department account and that Brodersen-Martin paid $1,712 restitution to the court.
A public phone listing for Brodersen-Martin could not be found. Her attorney didn't immediately return a call Friday from The Associated Press.
Brodersen-Martin was the assistant softball coach for 10 seasons. Cheryl Bressington of UNK personnel says Brodersen-Martin resigned on Aug. 14.
