Former Gage County Official's Bias Appeal Rejected

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has denied an appeal by the former Gage County highway superintendent.

Marlin Kliewer had appealed a decision by the Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission that upheld Gage County.

The Nebraska panel ruled the evidence didn't support Kliewer's
allegations of discrimination.

Kliewer claimed retaliation by county supervisors for his support of the county's weed control superintendent, who filed a sex discrimination complaint against the county. Kliewer and Emily Rosenthal resigned last September.

Kliewer is running for the District 6 seat held by the supervisors' chairman, Rex Adams. The primary election is May 15.
