The Freeman Public Schools district board will be asking voters to approve a nearly $5 million bond measure.
The measure would provide money to buy land, build additions, make renovations to old buildings and furnish new facilities in the
southeast Nebraska district.
Officials say there are about 1,200 registered voters in the Freeman district living in Gage County and just over 30 voters in the adjoining counties: Johnson, Lancaster and Otoe.
Ballots will be mailed to the registered voters between Aug. 24 and Sept. 2. The all-mail election ends on Sept. 13.
Freeman says enrollment was 348 in the 2008-2009 school year. In
the 2010-2011 school year, Freeman reported an enrollment of 379
students.
