It's a disease that is often silent, hidden and misunderstood. Candy Lefler knows first hand what an impact the disease can have on people.

It claimed the life of her 78-year-old mother, who died of a heart attack.

"It is so hard when you are sitting there with someone you love gasping for breath, holding their chest saying that they are hurting," said Candy Lefler.
