Farmers and ranchers in northwest Nebraska might be able to receive financial help to rebuild fences damaged by fire.
The Farm Service Agency for Dawes, Sheridan and north Sioux counties is offering the assistance.
Several wildfires damaged fences and pasture land in northwest Nebraska last summer.
Farmers and ranchers who qualify can be reimbursed for up to 75 percent of the cost of rebuilding their fences. But new fences will have to meet federal standards.
No single producer can receive more than $200,000 in assistance. The age of the fence being replaced will affect how much assistance a farmer or rancher can apply for.
