A local organization is raising funds to continue empowering Lincoln's youth.
City Impact is hosting its annual Hopes and Dreams fundraiser Monday night.
The event raises funds to support urban children and their families.
City Impact has several projects to improve the quality of life for kids in the area, including a leadership academy and a reading program.
Resource Ministry Director Mike Friend says a lot of their programs are unique because they focus on the individual talents of each child.
Friend says volunteers are always need for the reading program.
