Imagine watching your bank account go from zero to $140,000 over night!
Well, that's exactly what happened to one Grand Island woman when she bought her first $20 scratch ticket.
For Jessica Sutton last Monday was a normal day, until she bought a scratch ticket.
"I never bought a twenty dollar ticket before and I'm going to say what the heck. You always see all of these people winning," said Lottery Winner Jessica Sutton.
This time it was Sutton's turn, she won $200,000.
"And I thought I was seeing things, I didn't believe it was true. I didn't see how it could be that much money," said Sutton.
She works part time at Gas Island where she bought the ticket.
Her boss and co-workers say they're excited for her.
"Typically we don't get to see a lottery winner, and in this case it was really special that we all know her and we got to see the results of her winning," said Station Owner Doug Louth.
Louth says the money will have a big impact on Sutton's life.
"It's really neat for her and her family it'll be a life changing event I'm hoping," said Louth.
Sutton says the money came at the perfect time.
Her husband has been out of work because of back surgery, and she was struggling to pay the bills, but now that is no longer the case.
"It don't seem like it's my own bank account - we actually didn't have a bank account, we had to open a checking account to deposit this check into it," said Sutton.
Come Friday when the $140,000 lump sum of money is released Sutton says it'll be even more surreal to her and her family than it already is right now
The store gets $2,000 dollars for selling the ticket.
They will use some of the money toward a store remodel this summer.
Sutton says she'll use the money to put towards a house, debt, and her dream car!
