A court hearing is set for a Colorado man charged in a boating accident that killed another Colorado man on Lake McConaughy in western Nebraska.

Thirty-six-year-old Andrew Schmidt, of Castle Rock, Colo., is charged with manslaughter and reckless/negligent operation of a personal watercraft. Keith County Attorney Randy Fair says Schmidt's initial appearance for arraignment is set for Sept. 17. He has been released after posting bond.

Schmidt is charged in a collision on Sunday that killed 64-year-old Richard Caroselli, of Brighton, Colo. Authorities say Schmidt's watercraft hit the side of Caroselli's boat and landed inside the boat. Four other family members were in the boat, and three were injured.

Schmidt's case isn't on the online court system, and it's unclear if he has an attorney.
