The Valley County sheriff's office says Friday that 45-year-old John Oldson, of Randolph, Mo., faces a preliminary hearing on March 29 in Valley County Court. Court records show a preliminary hearing had been set for March 5, but was delayed due to a scheduling conflict.
Oldson is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Catherine Beard, a 31-year-old waitress who disappeared in 1989. Oldson was arrested in January in Missouri after Nebraska investigators discovered new evidence that pointed to Oldson.
