A Hershey man has been sentenced to 40 to 60 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 12-year old girl.
Officials say 37-year-old Stephen Fischer was sentenced Monday in Lincoln County District Court.
Police say Fischer assaulted the girl on at least two different occasions in 2011.
Fischer's attorney, Blaine Gillette, says the sexual assault occurred in the wake of Fischer's brother's death and that Fischer's alcohol abuse could have contributed to his behavior.
But Judge Richard Birch said Fischer's failure to follow through with treatment from previous criminal convictions required a lengthy sentence.
