A central Nebraska woman died at an Omaha hospital almost six weeks after the crash that injured her.

Authorities say 44-year-old Kelly Franks died Thursday at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

She was injured Aug. 19 in a crash near Kearney.

The Buffalo County Sheriff's office says Franks was driving a car that collided with a pickup truck driven by 17-year-old Brett Bendfeldt, of Gibbon.

Bendfeldt's truck struck the driver's side of Franks' northbound car in an intersection about two miles south of Kearney.

Bendfeldt was treated for minor injuries, but Franks was transferred to the Omaha hospital after the crash.
