A 47-year-old Kearney man has pleaded no contest to a theft charge.

Shannon Thompson's former partners in the Duncan Thompson Group had reported their suspicions to police. Thompson was in charge of the company accounting.

Authorities say the thefts occurred between August 2008 and March 2011.

The Kearney Police Department checked company records and found
more than $22,000 in transactions that Thompson's former partners
say they hadn't authorized.
