LPD: Man Assaulted, Suspects Steal Victim's Laundry

Lincoln police are investigating an early morning robbery and assault.

Captain Martin Fehringer said just before midnight Monday, a 32-year-old man was walking home near 8th and C Streets when someone pushed him to the ground.

Capt. Fehringer said the victim was then hit and kicked by two males. Police say the suspects punched and kicked the victim in the head several times.

Fehringer said the suspects stole a laundry bag from the man. Police say the bag contained clothes and five pair of Nike Jordan shoes. Officer Kate Flood said the clothes and shoes were worth around $780.

Police say the victim suffered a black eye, cuts to his forehead and a small cut under his eye.

Fehringer said the man could only describe the suspects as three dark-skinned males.

Fehringer said that there have been similar types of robberies in Lincoln over the last 3 to 4 weeks. Fehringer said the robberies have similar suspect descriptions and are near the same general area.
