LPD: Man Assaulted and Robbed

Lincoln Police are investigating an early morning robbery and assault.

Officer Katie Flood said just before 6:15 Thursday morning, a transient man was lying in the grass near the bike trail at 21st and O street.

Flood said someone then came up to the man and kicked him in the face and ribs several time, then stole the man's backpack.

She said the backpack was worth $30 and had toiletries in it. The contents were later found, discarded near 22nd and Q street.

Flood said victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect is described at a white male in his 30's, stocky build, blonde hair. He was wearing a blue T-Shirt at the time.
