Lincoln police are investigating an attempted robbery. Police say the victim was held at gunpoint.
Captain Martin Fehringer said the 37-year-old victim was walking down 12th between A and B Streets, when he was approached by black male.
Fehringer said the suspect pulled a gun on the man and demanded money. Fehringer said the victim ran from the suspect, but he was chased.
Fehringer said the victim ran until he was too tired to continue. That's when, police say, the victim pulled out his cell phone and threatened to call police.
Officer Katie Flood said the suspect threatened to shoot the victim, but instead, the suspect got into gray or white two door Chrysler. Police say the Chrysler been following the chase. Police say the car was driven by white woman.
Flood said the victim was unharmed, he was able to avoid the attempted robbery.
Fehringer said the suspect is described as a 5'11, black male, with dark hair and dreadlocks. Police say the suspect was wearing a red, plaid shirt and black jeans.
