LPD: Woman Robbed at Gunpoint

Lincoln Police are investigating an armed robbery.

Officer Katie Flood said at about 1 a.m. Friday, a 21-year-old female was walking home from downtown Lincoln when a man confronted her with a gun.

Flood said the woman was walking near 25th and Washington street when someone tapped her on the shoulder. She said the woman turned around and came face to face with the barrel of a semi-automatic handgun. She said the man holding the gun demanded the woman's purse.

Flood said the victim promptly hand over her purse. She said the suspect asked if she had anything else, then he motioned, with the handgun, for the victim to leave.

Flood said $12, an Ipod and a cell phone were in the purse.

Police detained a man matching the description shortly after the robbery, but the victim could not identify him as the man who robbed her.

Police are looking for a back male, 30-years-old, 6', 200 pounds. He was wearing a baseball hat and a light colored, striped, short sleeve polo.
