The latest land to auctioned off in York County could be a state record.
According to Geen Realty and Action, 161 acres was sold near Badshaw for $16,900 an acre Monday.
That blows away the county record set earlier this year when land near Henderson sold for more than $14,000 an acre.
The auctioneer says there are several reasons why the land is valuable.
"It was in seed production which varies from year to year. It goes from a bean crop to a seed production. Second of all it's just the location," said Ross Ronne with Green Realty & Auction.
Ronne says the land is in a good water area which adds value to the location. In total over 2-million dollars was paid for the land.
