2012 has been the Lincoln Children's Zoo biggest attendance year to date. To celebrate the milestone, the zoo will hold off on closing for the season. The zoo will remain open for one extra week this year. The zoo will now close on Saturday, October 20th.

The Lincoln Children's Zoo estimates that 190,000 people will walk through their gates in 2012.

To commemorate this milestone and thank all those who have made it possible, the Biggest Celebration Ever was created. The celebration started in July and will conclude on October 20th.

Zoo staff will randomly give guests a little white envelope that contains a gift. More than 1,000 gifts will be given to guests. Gifts will range from ice cream cone certificates to the ultimate behind the scenes tour of the Zoo.
