Lincoln Man Pleads Guilty to Fleeing Arrest

A Lincoln man has pleaded guilty to leading police on a March 2010 high-speed pursuit that ended in a crash.

Authorities say 25-year-old Michael Wills pleaded guilty Tuesday to fleeing to avoid arrest and leaving the scene of an injury accident.

When questioned by the judge, Wills said he didn't remember much about the chase.

Deputy Lancaster County Attorney Dan Packard says Wills refused to stop and drove at speeds over 100 mph without his headlights on before hitting a deer, veering into a ditch and sailing more than 20 feet in the air.

Nebraska State Patrol video showed Wills crawling away from his Ford Explorer and leaving his injured wife behind.

Wills will be sentenced on March 22.
