A Scottsbluff man has been accused of assaulting another man after a hearing in the Scotts Bluff County Courthouse in Gering.
27-year-old Levi Wood was charged with third-degree assault on Friday.
The sheriff's office says Wood and 64-year-old Thomas Halligan left a courtroom on the second floor after a protection order hearing when Wood allegedly shoved Halligan as he neared the stairs.
Halligan fell down the stairs to a mid-floor landing. He was taken to a hospital, where he was checked for wrist, shoulder and back injuries, and released.
Wood's case is not on the online court system, and it's unclear if he has an attorney.
