It was an unusual call that brought rescue workers to the scene Monday.
A Hall County Roads worker was trapped in a snow pile.
The call that saved him, he placed himself from beneath the frozen mess.
No one with the county or people who rescued the man would speak on camera, but KOLN/KGIN was able to get some basic details.
A Hall County Road worker was dumping snow from his truck when he somehow became buried beneath it.
Grand Island Fire Department responded to a rescue call that the man placed himself.
They said when they arrived at the scene the worker was almost entirely buried in snow, and just his head and arm were outside the pile.
He was taken to Saint Francis Medical Center in Grand Island where he was treated and released with minor injuries, mostly scratches and bruises.
Officials said he was told to take the rest of the day off but will be back to work tomorrow.
Hall County safety officials said it’s unclear at this point whether any safety guidelines were breached.
They said if that is the case, those concerns will be addressed.
