Man Returned to Prison After Escaping Community Corrections

90 minutes - That's all the 'freedom' an escapee had before being caught and returned to prison.

Lincoln Police learned of an escape just after 8 Tuesday evening.

According to Sergeant Terrance Vernon, 28-year-old Brandon Bauer escaped from Community Corrections at 2720 West Van Dorn.

Lincoln Police joined forces with the Nebraska State Patrol searching the area.

Vernon said police used a K-9 to track Bauer to the 2200 block of West Plum Street, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Bauer was returned to the Nebraska Department of Corrections.

Bauer is currently serving time in prison for domestic assaults and assaulting a police officer. Bauer is listed on the Department of Corrections website as previously being incarcerated for crimes in western Nebraska.
