Bands can be reported by calling 402-471-1756.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is urging hunters to report any leg bands they find on the pheasants they shoot this fall in the Southwest Focus on Pheasants area.
Game and Parks is capturing wild birds in the focus area and putting leg bands on them. Officials want to find out how pheasants move and use the study area, which includes portions of Hayes, Hitchcock and Red Willow counties.
Hunters should provide the numbers of the bands and the locations and dates they were recovered.
The pheasant season opens Saturday and runs through Jan. 31.
