A 34-year-old sheriff's deputy in south-central Nebraska has been accused of stealing from the county.

Kevin Bombeck is charged in Hall County Court with felony theft between March 9 and Oct. 1 of last year.

Hall County Chief Deputy Sheriff Chris Rea says Bombeck has been on administrative leave since Thursday. The charge was filed Friday.

Hall County Attorney Mark Young wouldn't discuss details but said the case involves the theft of money.

Bombeck lives in Wood River. He joined the department in August 2010.

A phone number listed for Bombeck isn't in service. Online court records don't yet list the case.
