Nebraska has collected more than $8.3 million related to criminal and civil actions.
Nebraska U.S. Attorney Deborah R. Gilg said Tuesday the money was collected in the fiscal year that ended in 2012.
Some cases collected more money than others. For example, Nebraska recovered more than $1.5 million from several individuals convicted of IRS fraud and tax evasion.
Gilg says about $3.4 million of the total collections came from criminal actions. About $4.9 million came from civil actions.
The amount is part of $13.1 billion collected nationwide.
