A grand jury in Nebraska has indicted the mother of a slain toddler and her ex-boyfriend in connection with the girl's death.

A Scotts Bluff County grand jury on Monday indicted Charyse Geurts and Dustin Chauncey in connection with the 2008 death of Juliette Geurts.

Dustin Chauncey faces several charges including child abuse resulting in death. Charyse Geurts is charged with accessory to a felony and furnishing false material to authorities to impede the investigation.

Charyse Geurts told police she found her daughter dead in her crib. An autopsy showed the toddler died of blunt-force trauma to the head and abdomen.

A grand jury convened after a group petitioned for renowned efforts to find out what happened to the girl.

Court records do not list attorneys for Geurts or Chauncey.
