Nebraska officials have awarded $200,000 as part of a program to help rehabilitate homes in six counties.

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development said Friday that the project targets seven owner-occupied households earning at or below 80 percent of the median family income in the area.

The rehabilitation work will include upgrades to electrical, plumbing and heating systems. That also includes roofing, structural integrity and installation of energy conserving materials.
