The Nebraska Crossing outlet mall on Interstate 80 near Gretna will soon be reduced to rubble to make way for a new shopping center.
The owners of the outlet mall decided to demolish the existing shops as part of a plan to redevelop the nearly 20-year-old shopping center.
The few remaining stores have been told they need to vacate the facility by Jan. 1.
And an auction company has been hired to sell parts of the facility, such as benches, doors, wiring and trees.
Auction Solutions owner Shayne Fili says the items will be auctioned off online.
Demolition could begin as soon as January. Developers hope to have the new outlet mall ready by next fall.
