A lieutenant for the Douglas County Sheriff's Department has been cited for driving under the influence after he was stopped on the wrong side of the road.

Lt. Richard Lally was stopped early Saturday morning on the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus.

A police report says the 46-year-old was driving on the wrong side of the road and weaving near campus housing.

Lally later failed field sobriety tests and his blood-alcohol level registered above the legal limit.

He declined to comment to the newspaper on Monday.
