A Nebraska State Patrol trooper in Omaha has been recognized as a law enforcement officer who has served with distinction and devotion.
Trooper Eric Kauffman received the Nebraska Society, Sons of the American Revolution 2012 Law Enforcement Award earlier this week.
The 32-year-old Kauffman is a nine-year veteran of the agency and a member of the Patrol's Field Services Division in Omaha.
Patrol Superintendent Col. David Sankey says Kauffman "demonstrates the Patrol's commitment to duty."
The award is presented annually to a law enforcement officer who supports the principles of patriotism while demonstrating a commitment to public safety.
