All weekly unemployment claims will now be filed online in Nebraska.

The state Department of Labor says the new online system will replace the old automated phone system.

Labor Commissioner Catherine Lang says this is a step forward for the department. Nebraskans will now be able to complete most of the steps to receive benefits in one place.

People who don't have a computer are encouraged to use computers at their local library or at one of 15 Labor Department offices to file their weekly unemployment claims.
