Authorities in Saunders County are developing a notification system to quickly alert banks about scams.

Sheriff Kevin Stukenholtz told the Fremont Tribune that it's important to communicate with banks as soon as a scam is identified by law enforcement and put them on alert.

His office and the county attorney's office are partnering to create the system.

County Attorney Scott Tingelhoff says the number of scams is increasing and they're becoming more sophisticated. He says bank customers can feel secure knowing their banks are aware of scams and are taking steps to safeguard their money.
