Victims of this summer's flooding along the Missouri River can get free disaster-related advice, thanks to a toll-free hot line.
The hot line is for flood victims in those counties that have received a federal disaster declaration for individual assistance.
Those counties are Boyd, Burt, Cass, Dakota, Dixon, Douglas, Knox, Sarpy and Washington.
The hot line is operated by Volunteer Lawyers of Nebraska through the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association.
Those needing legal advice can call 1-800-742-3005. The line is staffed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Legal services available to qualifying individuals include help with insurance claims, home repair contracts, consumer protection issues and replacement of wills and other legal documents destroyed in the flood.
