The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is encouraging hunters to donate money to the Hunters Helping the Hungry program when they fill out their Nebraska big game application forms.
The program encourages hunters to give deer carcasses to
processors who prepare the venison for Nebraskans in need.
The commission says there's a shaded box in the upper left
corner of the application form that hunters can mark. Hunters also
may donate when purchasing hunting permits electronically.
The commission says other people soon will be able to make
tax-deductible donations through the commission's website,
OutdoorNebraska.org.
The money donated will cover deer processing and other program costs.
