Prosecutors have appealed a drunken driver's sentencing, asking the Nebraska Supreme Court to make him stay longer in a Nebraska prison.
In court Thursday for oral arguments, Deputy Lancaster County Attorney Dan Packard said 55-year-old William Parminter has had several drunken-driving convictions and has been on probation three times.
Parminter is nearing his release on probation after being given two sentences of 12 to 18 months and one for 12 to 24 months in prison that are being served at the same time.
Packard says Parminter should have been given the maximum: five years for aggravated third-offense DUI and a consecutive five years for fourth-offense DUI, with a 15-year license suspension.
The court did not immediately issue a ruling.
