A 32-year-old Mead man has been imprisoned for attempted theft and for possessing a shotgun on school property.

A news release from the office of Saunders County Attorney Scott Tingelhoff says 32-year-old Joel Ludacka on Monday was given 20-to-48 months for the attempted theft and 20-to-60 months for the weapons charge. They are to be served consecutively. He was given credit for 536 days served.

Ludacka had pleaded guilty.

Court records say Ludacka tried to rob the Bank of Mead on Aug. 19, 2010. He demanded money but didn't get any.

Ludacka soon was captured, and investigators later learned Ludacka had a shotgun while he was on Mead Public Schools' property.
