The Omaha Nighthawks football team is mourning the death of its player personnel director, Greg Miller.

The 57-year-old died Thursday in Grand Island. His son, Mike Miller, said he died of natural causes.

Nighthawks general manager Matt Boockmeier described Miller as a dedicated scout, a devoted family man, and a friend to both the team and "the entire football community."

Before he joined the Nighthawks staff, Miller spent 13 years scouting in the Great Plains area for the Denver Broncos.

The Mitchell, S.D., native was a three-year starter and two-time all-conference pick at offensive tackle for South Dakota State University.

Miller is survived by his wife, Jane; daughter, Adrienne; two sons, Mike and Nolan; and three grandchildren.
