Omaha police officers killed two dogs while serving a search warrant related to a burglary investigation.
Officers say three pit bull dogs charged at them when they served a search warrant about 10 a.m. Monday and entered a home. Officers shot and killed two of the dogs. The other dog was injured.
Police say officers recovered numerous items that had been reported stolen in area burglaries and arrested two Omaha men.
They charged 20-year-old William Bowen with four counts of burglary and one count of theft by receiving. Police charged 26-year-old Matthew Barta with theft by receiving and possession of a firearm.
Lawyers for the men weren't available Monday afternoon.
