Omaha police are investigating a fatal assault.
Police say the assault was reported Tuesday afternoon at a building several blocks south of downtown.
Officers arrived after 2 p.m. to find the man who had been assaulted inside the rear of the building. The man was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition, and he died at the hospital.
Police did not immediately release the victim's identity.
Neighbors at the Legend Hotel say the victim was in his 60s and had been living at the building for several months. He had recently started working in the building.
