Nebraska-based online retailer Hayneedle is planning to open a new distribution center in California next year.
The Omaha company sells a variety of home and outdoor products through specialized websites like www.hammocks.com and www.coatracks.com as well as through its main Hayneedle website.
The company says the 300,000-square-foot distribution center in Riverside, Calif., will employ about 20 people initially. The workforce will likely double to 40 in the next few years.
Hayneedle Vice President Tom Clement says the new distribution center shows how much the company has grown. Currently, the company fulfills all its orders through its 600,000-square-foot Monroe, Ohio, distribution center.
