Police say a small plane that crashed into an eastern Nebraska vehicle storage lot was being flown by a 92-year-old man.

Blair police say Robert Harrick, of Nickerson, died when his single-engine plane went down in the lot on the south side of Blair around 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.

The plane struck a pickup at the Woodhouse dealership lot, which sits on a hill west of U.S. Highway 30.

A manager at the nearby Woodhouse dealership, Dave Kaiser, says that he and several other employees ran over to the plane to help the pilot, but "he wasn't moving at all."

An autopsy has been ordered.
