Authorities say nearly 60 pounds of marijuana has been seized after two recent traffic stops on Interstate 80 in Nebraska.
The Nebraska State Patrol says a trooper stopped a speeding car just before 11:30 p.m. Friday in Lincoln County. The trooper reported smelling the odor of marijuana, so the car was searched. The patrol says 25.5 pounds was found, divided among 15 Christmas-wrapped packages in the trunk.
The driver and his passenger were arrested on suspicion of possession for sale.
Late Saturday afternoon a trooper stopped a speeding car in Lincoln. A patrol dog taken to the scene near the airport indicated the presence of drugs. The patrol says 33 pounds of pot was found in the car trunk.
