Power Restored Most Everywhere in Nebraska

Nebraska utility crews have restored electricity to all but a few customers after the winter storm that passed through the state.

The weight of the wet snow Saturday caused tree limbs to break and knock down power lines.

At the height of the outages, more than 15,000 customers lacked electricity.

By Saturday evening, only about 6,000 utility customers remained without power.

Most of those were in southeast Nebraska or near Lincoln.

As of Monday morning, for example, Omaha Public Power District reported only eight customers without power.

Nebraska Public Power District reported four customers without power in the south-central part of the state.

Beatrice-based Norris Public Power District said that as of 4:45 p.m. Sunday, it was restoring power to its last customer affected by the storm.
