A 3-year-old Nebraska girl was startled but unharmed when a sports utility vehicle crashed into her home in Grand Island.

Authorities say the vehicle struck the home Sunday and sheered away a corner wall. The crash narrowly missed the girl as she was napping.

The girl's mother, Estela Matias, says she heard the noise and discovered her daughter, Katie, still in her bed.

The girl's father, Guillermo Ramos, says the crash frightened his wife and three daughters.

Police say the driver who struck the house, Eliseo Perez, appears to have hit the gas instead of the brakes after colliding with a pickup.

The SUV went through the wall and then struck a parked car.

Police do not believe alcohol was a factor.
