The Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce and Metropolitan Community College (MCC) announce the launch of the Greater Fremont Incubator Program. This program will provide Fremont Area entrepreneurs of all levels the information and tools that they need to be successful business men and women.
The City of Fremont, in partnership with MCC and the Fremont Area Chamber, received a Building Entrepreneurial Communities Act (BECA) grant. Through the funding received, 40, $100 scholarships will be available each quarter over a two year timeframe. These scholarships are for existing entrepreneurs with businesses in Dodge County and future entrepreneur candidates looking for assistance to start, sustain or grow a business, to attend “for-credit” Entrepreneurship classes offered at the Fremont Area Center of MCC or through MCC’s online campus.
Partial scholarships can be used for the following classes in the Spring Quarter:
Fremont Area Center:
ENTR 1050 Introduction to Entrepreneurship – Wednesday nights, 6-10 p.m.
Online Campus:
ENTR 1050 Introduction to Entrepreneurship
ENTR 2040 Entrepreneurship Feasibility Study
ENTR 2060 Entrepreneurship Legal Issues
Instructors at MCC recommend that new students begin with the Introduction to Entrepreneurship class as it provides an overview of all the Entrepreneurship classes and disciplines. Introduction to Entrepreneurship provides discussion of marketing, advertising, accounting, financial, legal, tax, insurance, and developing a business plan, all aspects of owning your business.
Spring Quarter begins March 9, 2011. Students taking the online course must be registered by March 8, 2011. For more information on MCC’s tuition rate, please visit www.mccneb.edu.
