Fans of Miss America Teresa Scanlan can purchase shirts celebrating the Nebraskan's success.

The Sports Shoppe and Big Red Etc. in North Platte are selling the special T-shirts ahead of Scanlan's return to the state later this month. The shirts are available in either red or purple and feature Scanlan's favorite Bible verse.

Big Red manager Janet Moorhead came up with the idea. She told KNOP-TV that Scanlan hasn't seen the shirts and will be surprised to see fans wearing them at appearances Feb. 23 in her hometown of Gering, Feb. 25 in North Platte and Feb. 26 in La Vista.

Scanlan was the first Miss Nebraska to become Miss America. Now 18, Scanlan was 17 when she was crowned last month, making her the youngest Miss America in history.
