The University of Nebraska State Museum at Morrill Hall in Lincoln will kick off February with its annual "Dinosaurs and Disasters" event.

The museum invites children and their families to learn about dinosaurs and earth science on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Children can participate in hands-on activities like forecasting the weather and fossils digging.

UNL scientists and students from the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences will lead several activities and demonstrations relating to fossils, natural disasters, space and more.

This is the ninth year Morrill Hall has hosted the event. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children and free for children younger than 4.
