On Friday evening, camp directors will cook out for campers and their families followed by a program in Hardin Hall Auditorium where awards will be given. Campers will also be able to showcase their activities from the weather camp week.

During the week, campers get to use instruments to make their own weather observations, meet forecasters at the National Weather Service, learn about the local weather of Nebraska from tornadoes to blizzards, and visit a TV weather studio.

Applications for the 2012 Weather Camp will be distributed through local schools. The fee for weather camp is $200.

Selection will be based on student interest and teacher
recommendations. Scholarships are available.
