The mayor of Sutton has been given probation and ordered to pay restitution for breaking into his estranged wife's home and stealing various items.
Robert Hale was given one year of probation and must pay $508 in restitution.
Hale was sentenced to two days in jail and given credit for time served. He pleaded no contest to criminal trespassing and criminal mischief charges.
Court documents show items taken last April from Barbara Hale's rented home were found in Robert Hale's property in Sutton.
